What rally classes do we offer and when?

Rally Obedience was originally designed to encourage participation in regular obedience classes.  It ia a fun and interactive class that emphasizes the relationship between handler and dog.  The Rally -O class consists of a course having a series of numbered cones or stations.  Dogs and handlers heel between stations and perform a designated exercise when they arrive at each station. Rally Obedience consists of obedience training exercises, once known as "doodling", that are practiced in order to improve communication, position and general performance in a fun, dynamic fashion.  Rally-O judges focus on teamwork and attitude; "a good run starts with a good time".  In addition to performing the exercises, Rally-O judges like to see the teams enjoying themselves!    In most classes, handlers are permitted to talk to their dogs and encourage them by using other signals, for example, patting their legs, etc. It is a positive, interesting way to develop obedience skills while having a good time with the dog.

If you like having fun with your dog, rally is for you!

Rally Wednesday 6:00 PM

Your dog will be introduced to all Rally exercises and signs, from Novice to Excellent.  Because there will be some off lead work, your  dog must be controllable around other dogs and people.  We encourage our students to take obedience classes while learning rally as obedience training enhances your dog's opportunities for success in rally.

Fees

Our six week class session is $110.  Pre-registration is required as class size will be limited.  Please complete the Rally Class Application (coming online soon).  There will be no make-ups or carry-overs for missed rally classes unless a class is postponed by the instructor.

What should you bring to class, besides your dog?

Please bring water, a crate for your dog and an ample supply of your dog's favorite training treats, preferably cut into small pieces -- and/or a favorite small, non-squeaky toy that may also be used for motivation.
