What rally classes do we offer and when?
|
Rally Obedience was
originally designed to encourage participation in regular obedience classes. It
ia a fun and interactive class that emphasizes the relationship between handler
and dog. The Rally -O class consists of a course having a series of numbered
cones or stations. Dogs and handlers heel between stations and perform a
designated exercise when they arrive at each station. Rally Obedience consists
of obedience training exercises, once known as "doodling", that are practiced in
order to improve communication, position and general performance in a fun,
dynamic fashion. Rally-O judges focus on teamwork and attitude; "a good run
starts with a good time". In addition to performing the exercises, Rally-O
judges like to see the teams enjoying themselves! In most classes, handlers
are permitted to talk to their dogs and encourage them by using other signals,
for example, patting their legs, etc. It is a positive, interesting way to
develop obedience skills while having a good time with the dog. For more information about Rally, please go to the AKC web page Getting Started In Rally. If you like having fun with your dog, rally is for you! |
